On Sunday, August 20, at the end of the Grand Concours Hydro-Québec final of the Festival International de la chanson de Granby, Olivier Faubert was awarded the Artisti Prize accompanied by a $1,000 bursary.
Singer-songwriter from Montreal, his songs, with their indie-rock arrangements, deal with highly personal subjects. His lyrics, sometimes sad, sometimes heartbreaking, are imaginative and sensitive. They contrast with the music, which is often upbeat and danceable. He connects with his audience every time he performs. His contagious energy makes him an electrifying and engaging performer.
Olivier interprets his music with such strength and precision that we can't remain indifferent. Authentic, he's capable of reaching deep into our emotions. The nuances in his voice, his colorful guitar playing, and his ardor on stage all come together to captivate the listener's ear.
Julien Alvarez-Thomet, Artisti board director and jury member
Artisti would like to congratulate Olivier for his Prize and all the artists who took part in the 55th edition of the FICG.
See you next year!
